MOTEFrom a dank basement in Louisville reeking of skunked beer, ancient dog turds and half-smoked spliffs, the Mote boys pen fuzz-heavy tunes about women, drugs, and the inherent dangers of recklessly mixing the two.

Mote began as the songwriting partnership of guitarists Jake Philley and Sam Benanti, drawn together in late 2011 for their mutual love of indie rock’s ‘90s heyday. After a number of lineup changes, they settled on drummer Jamie Conkin and bassist Daniel Ernst in 2013, and recorded their debut 7” MOPE, to be self-released later in the year.

The critics rave: “You guys are fucking loud.” – “I can’t hear my brain.” – “Play some Weezer.”
